Pastor’s Message  I lift up my eyes to the hills; from where is my help to come?  My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth.   Psalm 121:1-2

We find ourselves marking a year of countering the COVID-19 virus, isolating ourselves to the extent possible, whether in our homes or six feet away from other people. We’ve made masks whenever we leave home a fixture on our faces. Many of us also wear gloves when we are in public. And we wash those hands, wash those hands, wash those hands.

We maintain all of this while we also work, whether at home or in our pre-COVID workplaces. We keep control over the bodies God has given us, making wise meal choices, finding new ways to get regular exercise, and keeping appointments with doctors and getting vaccinations whenever we are eligible to do so, in order to make sure that we’re good stewards of our bodies.

We also try to find joys, many families renewing the pleasure of games in our homes and out-door fun in good weather. Online streaming services are becoming ever more popular. The technology of “Zoom” has brought us the ability to continue to gather for worship, for Bible Conversations, for prayer, for meetings and just for conversations. 

For all these practices, for these gifts of life, we say “thanks be to God.”  Our God, the maker of heaven and earth, has been our help throughout this time, and will continue to be the help we need until we learn how our “new normal” lives will look.

So let’s continue to come together and join in the times we can worship, Sundays at 10 AM and Wednesdays, March 3, 10, 17 and 24 at Noon.

On Easter Sunday, April 4 at 10 AM, we’ll celebrate the Resurrection of Our Lord, using our usual Sunday zoom links.  

And while we’re physically apart, we can continue to pray in thanksgiving to God for the lives we are able to live, even during the pandemic, in the words: I lift up my eyes to the hills; from where is my help to come? My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth.
